Located 4 km south of the CBD Middle Park is one of the older neighbourhoods of the City of Port Phillip with significant heritage areas featuring wide tree-lined streets the suburb is well known for its Victoria- era attached and row housing. The foreshore contains a number of high rise residential towers. The limited opportunities for redevelopment have contributed to a static population. Primarily a residential area visitors are drawn to the beach local shopping strips and recreational facilities in the nearby Albert Park Reserve. The neighbourhood is well served by the Armstrong Street strip shopping areas and the St Kilda light rail line. Other notable physical features include the foreshore and the nearby Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
